SCIENCE TUESDAY ON FRIDAY

Articles from the Science Tuesday section of the New York Times supply the basic material for this study group. Other sources, from daily news reports and web sites, will also be used to supplement the Tuesday science section. Prior to each class session, participants will be sent by e-mail selected topics to be discussed and additional background references. The course is for people who wish to extend their understanding of science and the implications of current scientific and medical issues. Contributions and presentations by class members are encouraged. Both scientists and non-scientists are welcome.

Leaders: Bob Robinson, a chemical engineer who worked in the pharmaceutical industry; Harry Pinch, a chemist who had been at RCA Laboratories and the Sarnoff Corporation for many years; and a panel with expertise in the medical, biological and physical sciences.

Friday: 9:45 to 11:45 a.m., 8 weeks beginning October 1.
