Respite Care

Respite care provides caregivers with temporary relief from or assistance with the responsibility of home caregiving. Some organizations such as Alzheimer’sAssociation, Statewide Respite, and Hospice have grants for respite.

Inpatient/residential options are available at most assisted livingrehabilitation, and nursing homes. Select the level of care that is needed.

STATEWIDE RESPITE CARE PROGRAM

Offers an array of home health services for families or individuals who provide unpaid basic daily care at home to someone who is functionally impaired (having a chronic physical or mental disability that would require supervision or assistance with basic daily needs from a caregiver). Services include companions, home health aides, day care, private duty nursing, alternate family care, inpatient care, and “campership.” For adults over the age of 18 who reside in New Jersey.

  • Caregiver Education program education and/or counseling on short term basis in the home. No fee criteria.
