The Director of Social Services provides strategic direction, leadership, and oversight for all aspects of PSRC’s support, guidance, and resource functions as well as community outreach and volunteer engagement. As a member of the staff leadership team, the Director of Social Services helps shape the implementation of PSRC’s strategic plan and integrates the social services team into PSRC’s organizational life.

Essential Functions Include:

  • Participate as an active member of the PSRC Staff Leadership Team
  • Lead the work of the PSRC social services department, including program/resource creation, development, implementation, and evaluation
  • Lead the deployment of social services team to provide on-site social services in three affordable housing developments (Spruce Circle, Redding Circle, Pirhl)
  • Direct the social services team — including hiring, supervision, development, and evaluation of staff in cooperation with the Chief Executive Officer
  • Provide direct services and oversee all aspects of care coordination, including direct social services, linkage to resources/services, community advocacy, family/individual consultations, need assessment, and support/wellness groups
  • Identify and build relationships and strategic local partnerships with faith communities, community organizations, nonprofit and municipal partners, and other groups or organizations to establish trust in and affinity with PSRC (includes representing PSRC at events in the community). Collaborate with partners to provide the best services for our constituencies.
  • Manage PSRC volunteer program — including posting/maintaining opportunities, recruiting and securing volunteers, screening and orientation, liaising with corporate volunteer groups, and building awareness within staff regarding the creation and maintenance of quality volunteer opportunities
  • Manage all aspects of reporting — including client information, contact logs, secure client files, program records, grant writing and reporting, etc. utilizing the Salesforce database

Master’s degree in social work, social services, (or related field), or equivalent experience in a field related to the position description; Bilingual or Multi-lingual a plus

Full-Time on site in Princeton, New Jersey, with occasional travel in the surrounding communities
