10:00 AM The History of Princeton (PCOL)
October 16 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
An event every week that begins at 10:00 am on Wednesday, repeating until November 20, 2019
This course will focus on the history of the Princeton community, its local historical figures and institutions and their role in city, state, and national events. We will examine the history of three of its most prominent institutions – Princeton University, Princeton Theological Seminary, and the Institute for Advanced Study – and how they have shaped the community. We will also study the effects of the American Revolution on Princeton and the role of its citizens in the “ten crucial days” of the war that have been hailed as a turning point in the revolution. Vintage and contemporary photographs will supplement the lectures.
