1:30 PM Contemporary Economic Issues – Evergreen Forum (PCOL)

This course is aimed at those wanting to extend their understanding of interdependent global business and economic activities. The course addresses modern monetary theory, moral capitalism, tariffs and protectionism, income and wealth inequality, national debt issues, structural changes on the corporate landscape, congestion pricing, crypto-currencies, evaluation of tax policy proposals, economic decision making, and technologies that will have a significant economic impact in the 21st century. The course is appropriate for students at all levels of economic sophistication.   

Leaders:  Milton H Grannatt, PhD, is a retired economist and vice president of global business development and licensing at Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation. Kurt Steiner, PhD, is a retired senior director of metabolic diseases and nutrition research at Wyeth Pharmaceuticals. Amulya Garga, PhD, is a retired senior manager of strategic planning at Lockheed Martin. 

Mondays: 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., 8 weeks: September 23 through November 18 (no class on 9/30) 

 Location: Presbyterian Church of Lawrenceville, Maximum 18 seats
